Prophet Martin Young Feb 25 2008 07:34PM TO THOSE CALLED TO BE SAINTS: What will God have to do to get you and I completely humble ourselves under His mighty hand? With me, it was last year finding out that I had Melanoma Type II skin cancer and having to undergo 4 operations and the taking seven months of in home chemotherapy. Then having a CT scan and finding out that the level of chemotherapy that I had been taking wasn’t destroying cancer as we had hoped and that the cancer had spread from my head and neck into the lymph nodes in my chest and abdomen and that they were inoperable. Hearing those words from my doctor, “Your cancer is inoperable,” devastated my family and I. That information was given to us a month ago. I went home and knew that if I allowed myself to fall into self pity and extreme doubt in the Word of God that I have been reading and trusting in for forty year, it really would be all over for me. Amid a hail of many flaming demonic arrows launched against me (day and night) to doubt my God and His Word, I went to the Lord, pleading with Him to keep me from stumbling and falling away. Carrie Ten boom said, “When you find out that Jesus is all that you have left, you will find out that Jesus is ALL you ever needed.” Through the prayers, cards and phone calls of encouragement from mighty spiritual men and women of God in this group, I know that “My HOPE is the NAME of the Lord…” Since the Lord did not choose to heal my cancer out right, but allow me to go through the afflictions of the FLOOD and the FIRE of chemotherapy, told me, “Though you walk through the waters, they SHALL NOT overflow you. Though you walk through the fire, you WILL NOT be burned…” Because the I AM, the awesome eternal almighty God was with me! Brothers and sisters, it is one thing to be able to “fight the good fight of the faith” when you are healthy and physically strong. But it is an entirely different BATTLE to fight when you have been so badly weakened and stripped of your health by a disease and the harsh medical treatments applied to cure it. There were days that I felt so sick, mentally, physically and emotionally, that I could go on another minute. But at those times, deep within my spirit, the Spirit of the Lord reminded me of this verse, “…and David ENCOURAGED HIMSELF in the LORD.” He also reminded me of the verse that says, “FAITH comes by HEARING the WORD OF THE LORD.” From deep within my spirit I hear the Holy Spirit say, “SING to Me!” In my weaken and emaciated condition, that was not on my TO DO list. The Scripture says, “Offer up a SACRICE OF PRAISE’ and “From the rising of the sun, until the going down of the same, the NAME OF THE LORD shall be PRAISE.” I sat alone in my living room and lifted my hands toward heaven and began to very weakly sing, “I love you Lord and I lift my voice…” The Word says, “God inhabits the praises of His people.” The Spirit of God filled the room where I was and angels of the Lord (unseen to me) joined in the praise and worship to our God. My spirit man came alive within as I sang for or five shorts songs to the love of my life, the Lord Jesus Christ. The Spirit of God was giving me another way to concentrate more on God, my HEALER, than Satan, my ENEMY and my HEALTH. When the Devil heard me singing to the Lord that best my feeble body could at the time and many times since, he went wild with RAGE! He hates it when God’s children say, in and through the power of God within them, “Though He slay me, yet will I serve Him!” Only God’s children who have developed a close and personal relationship with the Lord over time, dare to say this above. The Apostle Paul said, “When I am WEAK, then am I STRONG (in the Lord). The Word says, “It is not by power, nor by strength, but BY MY SPIRIT, says the Lord.” The Spirit of the Lord reminded me of this verse, “FAITH comes by hearing the WORD OF THE LORD…” That IS NOT just reading the Bible out loud or hearing an anointed sermon. It is when we begin to speak out loud the Word of God that we have hidden in our hearts back to Him. God tells us, “I watch over MY WORD to perform it!” MY WORD does not return to me VOID, without ACCOPLISHING all that it was sent to do!” “God IS NOT a man that He should LIE (to us).” By the leading of the Holy Spirit, I have made a commitment to fervently pray like the Prophet Daniel, three times a day, REMINDING God of His Word, His Promises and HIS MERCY and GRACE to those of us in whom Abraham speaking of our physical bodies described our physical bodies as, “only dust and ashes”. After reading Bible each day with the help of the Spirit of Truth (Holy Spirit), I spend time in fervent prayer praying God’s Word back to Him. I “pray in the spirit and the understanding.” I have been crying out to God to give me more of a heart of an intercessor and for all of YOU and your needs, and for our nation and whomever or whatever the Holy Spirit brings to mind to pray about. I am finding that when “we” FOCUS on the Lord and the kingdom of God within us and around us, we truly become “Strong IN THE LORD and THE POWER OF HIS MIGHT.” The Devil wants us to become TOTALLY SELF ABSERVED in OURSELVES and the MISERY in all the “fiery trials” that he is bringing against us. We MUST remember that we are to IMMEDIATELY “Submit ourselves to GOD, RESIST the Devil and he will flee from you.” This doesn’t mean that he and his forces will just leave. It means at that moment, we are thrust into the spiritual battle present and we are to use the Armor of God, the weapons of our warfare, the name of Jesus, the blood of Jesus in the power of the Holy Spirit. This is what I have had to learn by what the Lord has been allowing to go through for almost a year with my skin cancer and all that goes with it. When two nations go to war, sometime that duration that war can be over shortly, like the Seven Day War” for Israel’s independence. Or some of the other wars that last six months to a few years. Then there was the “Hundred Year War”. None of us know what LENGTH OF TIME the Lord will allow the Devil “permission” to get in close and attack us. Most of our life, our spiritual battles were fought and won within a matter of hours to a matter of months. This is what most of “the average Christians” have prepared themselves for. But IF and WHEN the Lord chooses to allow our battles to go into one year, two years or longer, we who are used to “microwave spiritual fixes”, we either DIG INTO THE DEPTHS OF GOD or we FALL BY THE WAYSIDE! If I HAD NOT spent the last forty years “building my house (life) upon the Rock” (Jesus Christ), the length of this TEST would have swept me away. After almost a year of going through the fire of my health issues, what was meant to DESTROY MY FAITH and TRUST IN GOD, has made me run to the “mercy seat, that I might receive MERCY (and GRACE) in my time of need.” “When Jesus is all you have left, you find out Jesus is all you ever needed!” No matter how long He allows the storm to rage around us, He has promised, “I will NEVER leave you nor forsake you.” He is EMMANUEL, “God WITH US!” “If God IS FOR US, who (or what) can be against us. Take “one day at a time” and with the grace, mercy and POWER in the Holy Ghost, “fight the good fight of the faith” and we will over come.
