"A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments and do them." Ezekiel 36:26,27.

We are born sinners and in need of redemption. God robed Himself with flesh in the Lord Jesus Christ, who came to bare away our sin.

He gives us a new heart, a new spirit, and puts His Spirit within us, enabling us by His Holy Spirit of Grace (Heb 10:29) to walk with Him in holiness. He "causes us" to walk in His Word - His law.

"I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me." Galatians 2:20.

The old man of sin was crucified with Christ, so that, we may walk in newness of life. When His Spirit lives within us, we are empowered by His Spirit to obey His Word.

The mark of false religion is the idea of earning our own salvation, through our own works. "...the plowing of the wicked is sin." Proverbs 21:4. As long as we are in bondage to sin, it is impossible for us to earn our own salvation.

Jesus said, "Not every one that saith, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the Kingdom of heaven, but he that doeth the will of my Father, which is in heaven.

MANY will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works?

And then will I profess unto them, I NEVER KNEW YOU: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." (lawlessness) Matthew 7:21-23.

Jesus said, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God." John 3:3.

When we are born of His Spirit, we become children of God, having His life within us. And our Father knows us, because, we are His children. And we know Him - "And I will give them an heart to know me, that, I AM the Lord..." Jeremiah 24:7.

We are incapable of earning our own salvation, because, we are sinners. It is by putting our faith in the works of the sinless Lamb of God - the Lord Jesus Christ, that, we are brought into the Father's Kingdom.

First, we must agree with God, that, we are sinners. Then, we believe, that, Jesus bore our sin upon the cross. Finally, we receive Him as our Lord, inviting His Spirit to live within us.

This brings us to eternal life, and we will live with Him in His Kingdom forever!

Hello Herald,

After reading your message I'm having difficulty understanding what your saying. I have the following questions.

>>>The mark of false religion is the idea of earning our own salvation, through our own works. "...the plowing of the wicked is sin." Proverbs 21:4. As long as we are in bondage to sin, it is impossible for us to earn our own salvation.<<<

What do you mean by salvation? Would a person with salvation be better off than a person without salvation and if so in what way? From you 1st paragraph it appears to say that the purpose behind giving us a new heart is to walk in God's statutes, how would walking in God's statutes be different from earning our own salvation?

In your last comment you used the term eternal life. Are you defining it the way jesus in the garden (About John 15) defined it or are you giving it some other definition?

When Adam sinned in the garden, we were in his loins. Because of his sin, we were born sinners. The sentence of death is for all who continue in sin.

God gives us a choice - we serve Him, or, we serve self. But, when we serve self, we are, actually, serving Satan, who is the god of this world.

Death awaits all of us. The, only, out is through our Lord Jesus Christ. He is eternal life. When we are born of His Spirit, we have eternal life within us, and will live with Him in His Kingdom forever.

Salvation is being born again.

When He comes again, the Scripture says, "Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep (in death), but we shall be changed. In a moment, in the twinkling of any eye, at the last trump; for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

For this corruption must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory." 1 Corinthians 15:51-54.

Those who have His Spirit within them - who are born again, will receive immortality. Those who do not, will perish in the lake of fire at the end of the world. Death is the consequence of sin.

He loves each one of us. All, you have to do is surrender your heart to Him, and make Him the Lord of your life.

You have to recognize that you're a sinner, that you're lost, and that you can't save yourself. You have to realize that only Jesus can save you. And then you have to ask Him to do just that. Then He does! =)

Hello Herald,

>>>Death awaits all of us. The, only, out is through our Lord Jesus Christ. He is eternal life. When we are born of His Spirit, we have eternal life within us, and will live with Him in His Kingdom forever.<<<

The question I have concerns the end part of your statement about living with him in his kingdom forever. In the book of acts there were several recorded sermons most of which were to unbelievers. It seems like a promise that one would live in god's kingdom forever would be a strong enducement to winning converts. My question is what promises were made to these potential converts in the book of acts?

Hello herald,

Another question I had wish you missed,
>>>how would walking in God's statutes be different from earning our own salvation?<<

What would be some examples of earning our own salvation?

The children of Israel, said, that, they could keep His Covenant in their own strength, but failed. Ex 24:7. The New Covenant is the Lord engraving His Covenant in our hearts and minds. Jer 31:31-34; Heb 8:10.

Jesus amplified His Covenant. That is why, He said, that, if a man looks upon a woman to lust, he has, already, committed adultery with her in his heart. Or, if we are angry with our brother without cause, we are guilty of murder.

Jesus looks at the motives of our heart.

Jesus said, that, "MANY" would stand before Him and boast in their own works - prophesying, casting out demons, and many wonderful works.

It's not about our works, but His.

"This is the work of God, that, ye believe on Him whom He hath sent."

The Lord is looking for faith in His Works on our behalf.

Hello julieann,

Me>>>From you 1st paragraph it appears to say that the purpose behind giving us a new heart is to walk in God's statutes, how would walking in God's statutes be different from earning our own salvation?<<<

So if walking in God's statutes is walking by faith, what types of works would not be walking by faith?

I don't understand what you're trying to say.

I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is in my flesh.

The only thing good in me is the Holy Spirit.

And if I do anything good, it is the Holy Spirit who does it.

He gets all the glory, not me.

So I cannot boast about myself, I can only boast about HIM.

And when I get to heaven, I will be astonished to see what he was able to accomplish through a wretched sinner like me.

Hello Julieann,

>>>I don't understand what you're trying to say.<<<

Then were both in the same boat because I don't understand what your saying either.

The way I am interpreting your comments is: that anything we do that does not acknowledge God/holy spirit/Jesus working within us would be works without faith (bad) and that anytghing we do acknowledging God/holy spirit/Jesus working in us would be works with faith (good).

Revelation 19:1-21

It appears that this is very well happening worldwide. His sheep(Bride) hear his voice, and have the work of bearing witness to Jesus, fully having repented with no more bearing witness to men's manmade self appointed works .

Revelation 19:1-21
1 And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God:

2 For true and righteous are his judgments: (for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.)

3 And again they said, Alleluia And her smoke rose up for ever and ever.

4 And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia.

5 And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye (that fear him), both small and great.

6 And I heard as it were the voice of (a great multitude), and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia:( for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.)

7 Let us be glad and rejoice, (and give honour to him): for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.

8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. (even an angel would not dare receive any praise for himself)

11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called ("Faithful and True"), and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;

18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.

19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.

20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

look at this verse agian....

"12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and (on his head were many crowns;) and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself."

Jesus, "Faithful and True", has many crowns to give to those who are His True Faithful Followers, and He gives a new name to those whom are in Christ, with His Spirit within them already. So those in Him will know that new name, because they are sealed with His name now, written with in their hearts..(a New Heart), and also their whole minds...with most of their thoughts on spiritual things)(which means they are marked in their foreheads..his His Holy name sealed) , with thier soul and entire strength...(their all, entire being and entire purpose) and they will personally know him, because they are His Bride and (one) with him already.

John 17:20-23 "My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21. that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: 23. I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.

Jesus prayed that we may all be united together with each other as well as united to Christ and “Father” and in order to achieve this we must fulfill the complete worship stated in Revelation 4:4

Rev 4:4
Surrounding the throne were twenty-four other thrones, and seated on them were twenty-four elders. They were dressed in white and had crowns of gold on their heads

10. the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne, and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say: 11"You are worthy, our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honor and power,
for you created all things,
and by your will they were created
and have their being."

They lay their crowns before the throne

Not only was they laying their physical crowns down this is symbolic of their very lives, by laying their crowns at the feet of the throne they where also laying down everything about themselves and submitting it to God, and worshipping Him in the manner in which He deserves. This is also how we should be before God each and every minute of the day. Completely submitted to Him and being worshipful and thankful for all we do and endure for His great honor.

Once we decide to fulfill this in our lives then we fulfill John 4:23
Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. We will become the worshippers that God seeks.

With much love to all,
In Christ,
Faithful and Truth
