Israel simulation prepares for two-front war with Hamas and Hizbullah TEL AVIV — Israel's military has been exercising for the prospect of a multi-front war. Officials said the Israel Army has been conducting exercises in preparation for a two-front war. They said the military envisions fighting along the southern Israeli frontier with the Gaza Strip as well as with Lebanon and Syria. ...Military intelligence has warned the government of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu of the prospect of war in 2010. Officials said the intelligence assessment said Iran could order a war by Hamas and Hizbullah in an effort to divert Western attention from its campaign to halt Teheran's nuclear program. "A wind of tension is blowing again in the north of the country," chief armored officer Brig. Gen. Agai Yehezkel said. "Despite the fact that the challenge might be more difficult than during Operation Cast Lead [Hamas war], we are prepared for it." http://www.worldtribune.com/worldtribune/WTARC/2010/me_israel0151_02_26.asp U.S. official: Arming of Hezbollah could spark Israel-Syria war An American source says that Syria allowed Hezbollah operatives to train within its territory in the use of advanced SA2 anti-aircraft missile batteries, the Kuwaiti daily Al Rai reported Sunday. In an interview, the senior U.S. official warned that if Syria supplies Hezbollah with this type of missile, Israel will bomb Damascus and a war will likely ensue. According to the official, Israel has warned Syria not to allow the transfer of the SA2 missiles into the hands of Hezbollah, and views the transfer of such missiles as the crossing of a red line. http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/1143146.html Does Iran Actually WANT A War With Israel So That The Mahdi Can Return? ![]() "Today, we should define our economic, cultural and political policies based on the policy of Imam Mahdi's return." -Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Does the government of Iran actually want war with Israel so that the Mahdi can return? As insane as that sounds, the truth is that the vast majority of people in the United States and Europe simply do not understand how absolutely obsessed Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and others in the Iranian government are with their form of radical Islam and with the return of the Mahdi. It surprises many to learn that Iran's official state websites are filled with information about the Mahdi. In fact, Ahmadinejad actually believes that he was born to be "the great jihadist" that would prepare the way for the twelfth Imam. But in order for the Mahdi to return, the belief is that there must first be a great cataclysmic event. So is Iran's nuclear weapons program designed to facilitate this cataclysmic event and hasten the return of the Mahdi? That seems to be the most rational explanation for Iran's current behavior. The government of Iran knows that Israel and the United States will never let them develop nuclear weapons and will go to war if necessary to prevent Iran from getting them. But they seem bound and determined to get nuclear weapons anyway. Ariel Sharon understood these radical Islamic beliefs very well. Sharon is quoted as saying the following about Iran's obsession with the Mahdi.... "How will they bring him? Through an apocalypse. He (the Mahdi) needs a war. He cannot come into this world without an Armageddon. He wants an Armageddon. The earlier we understand this the better. Ahmadinejad wants nuclear weapons for this!" So was Sharon just exaggerating when he said this? Not at all. In fact, check out the following quote from Ahmadinejad about how he believes that the United States is actively trying to prevent the return of the Mahdi.... "They have devised all these plans to prevent the coming of the Hidden Imam because they know that the Iranian nation is the one that will prepare the grounds for his coming and will be the supporters of his rule". Most Americans and Europeans simply cannot conceive of a government that makes all major decisions based on an obsession with religion, but that is exactly what is going on in Iran. "We must prepare ourselves to rule the world and the only way to do that is to put forth views on the basis of the Expectation of the Return." -Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad http://signsofthelastdays.com/archives/does-iran-actually-want-a-war-with-israel-so-that-the-mahdi-can-return |

I believe God will use the muslim nations as he did pharoh to facilitate His final plan. That said, I do not believe all that is told to us by our government concerning the "axis of evil". There is much propaganda fluttering about and I wish I could be a fly on the wall during these meetings between Iran and it's allies. |

Dubai police chief says to seek Netanyahu arrest DUBAI (Reuters) - Dubai's police chief plans to seek the arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the head of Israel's spy agency over the killing of a Hamas leader in the emirate, Al Jazeera television reported. Dahi Khalfan Tamim "said he would ask the Dubai prosecutor to issue arrest warrants for ... Netanyahu and the head of Mossad," the television said. It did not give details. Tamim has said he is "almost certain" Israeli agents were involved in the killing of Hamas commander Mahmoud al-Mabhouh at a Dubai hotel in January, calling for Mossad's boss, Meir Dagan, to be arrested if it is proved responsible. Tamim said on Monday Mossad had "insulted" Dubai and Western countries whose fraudulent passports were used by suspects in the assassination. Dubai has asked the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation to look into prepaid cards issued by the Meta Financial Group's MetaBank which the suspects used, a United Arab Emirates newspaper said. Citing an FBI source, The National newspaper said the investigation would look into any Israeli involvement in the killing. http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE6214TT20100302 ~~~~~~ So, even if they do issue an arrest warrant, are they going to go to Israel and arrest their Head of State? ...and I suppose that Israel is expected to just acquiesce and hand him over? One commentator noted: WHAT A JOKE! A murderous terrorist thug from HAMAS comes to Dubai to buy weapons from Iranian agents, so that HAMAS can murder more innocent women and children. And now Dubai is seeking to arrest the counter-terrorists. What a topsy-turvey world we live in. ~~~~~~ I feel we are getting very close to that time...the day of Jacob's trouble approaches and the fulfillment of Isaiah 17. |

Iranian Spiritual Leader: Nukes are a Religious Obligation (IsraelNN.com) Ayatollah Masbah Yazdi, the spiritual teacher of Iran’s dictator Mahmoud Ahmedinajad, says that the acquisition of nuclear weapons is a religious obligation. So reports the Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center (ITIC), headquartered in Ramat HaSharon. Just ten days ago, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said the opposite. Speaking to army commanders at the launch of a new Iranian naval destroyer, Khamenei said, “Our religious beliefs are against the use of [nuclear] weapons. We in no way believe in an atomic weapon and do not seek one." Yazdi wrote that the country’s leaders need not fear the financial costs of producing atomic weapons, as these would be more than compensated for by the “Divine and Messianic aid” that would result. ITIC acknowledges that the prevalent approach in official Iran is as Khamenei said, namely, that Islam forbids the development of nuclear weapons. However, no official ruling to this effect is known, nor “is it reasonable to assume that this would prevent the regime from developing” such weapons, ITIC says. “We must manufacture, here at home, the most advanced weapons,” Yazdi wrote, “even if it doesn’t please our enemies. There is no reason that they should have the right to manufacture [such] weapons, while other countries are denied this right.” “We must not break in the face of temporary difficulties,” Yazdi further writes, “and the Muslims must be patient and not be deterred by a material and economic lack - for if so, this is liable to lead to a separation from the religion.” http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/136281 |

Rhetoric from the Mad Man In Jihad (amadmaninjihad) is convincing evidence that he is a third stage syphilis patient, much like Idi Amin in the past. Let us consider the options: 1. Iran (or proxy) acts first The world opinion will immediately shift and the response will be an all out war, which will go nuclear, but the Lord will freeze time and intervene. 2. Israel does a pre-emptive strike and fullfills the prophesy about Damascus being a heap of rubble (by the way this only takes one missile aimed at the tunnel system under Damascus). Either way, God wins. (and I surely do not mean Ba-allah, their false god). |

That Was a War Council in Damascus The three-party meeting that took place in Damascus on Friday gathering the Syrian president Bashar al Assad, the Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and the Hizbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah was a war council to devise counterattack plans and assign tasks in the event of an Israeli offensive on one or all parties, wrote Abdelbari Atwan, the editor-in-chief of the pan-Arab newspaper Al Quds al Arabi. “The timing of the meeting, the way it was undertaken and the ensuing press conference that was held at its conclusion, all point to a strategic coalition being reinforced. This is the build-up of a new front that will spearhead the confrontation with the US-Israeli alliance and whichever Arab countries that may, expressly or implicitly, be affiliated with it.” The Iranian president said he expects war to break out somewhere between spring and summer of this year. Meanwhile, the Hizbollah chief vowed to strike the Israeli capital, its airports and power stations if Israel dared to attack Beirut’s critical infrastructure. “Indeed, we are being exposed to a new discourse here, an unprecedented sense of self-confidence and an unheard-of preparedness for retaliation.” For its part, the Syrian leadership appears to have made up its mind to close off the US administration’s “trite and cheap” flirtation with Damascus and opted for bolstering its tactical partnership with Tehran. http://www.thenational.ae/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20100301/OPINION/702289930/1006 |

The amount of HATE for Israel is not just from its neighbors but from here in the USA as well . I go to other web sites and read the news there and leave comments on postings on how I view Israels Desire for Peace . The volume of abject hate by some of those people at me is Astounding ! As much as I point out the errors of their postings the more hate directed at me ! The big one is that Israel is the aggerssor and wants to take over the entire Middle east !!! No matter how much reasoning I use the hate just blinds them numb. Along with that we the US are arming Israel's enemys . How is it that our leadership can be obsessed with doing this ? The obstinate resolve to destroy Israel by our president will move GOD to bring this country to its knees ,( hopefully to pray for forgiveness ! ) I am so fustrated with what our leadership has done and what will happen when we as a country face our Lords wrath . No one in Washington DC seems to read or understand the Bible and we are going to be very sorry for that. We as a nation of voters also have to share this blame as well , after all we voted them into office . My reasoning is this : Timothy was the man God had anointed to be Israel's king but the people chose Saul instead and rejected God and as God told Timothy " Do not despair Timothy thay have not rejected you but me." So what does this teach us ? that we do have FREE WILL ! We could have voted in good God fearing men but did not . we can follow God's word or not that is up to us . Thats why we are at this point in time . Simply put we are not following God's word . And we will pay a heavy price for that . IMO bob-bob-bob

Massive Construction Visible at Iran's Missile & Space Center at Semnan Extensive infrastructure developments are evident in the following satellite imagery, obtained by the Israeli Eros-B satellite. The images are superimposed on an earlier image, available through Google Earth, taken around 2007. Images: Background image, GoogleEarth. Inserts: Imagesat International. ![]() ![]() The Safir satellite launcher erected, ready to launch from the active launch pad at Semnan. Photo: Imagesat. ![]() Another new facility at Semnan is the missile integration center, where payloads are fitted to the missile. (such as the Omid satellite launched earlier this year). Photo: Imagesat ![]() East of the active site, the Iranians are constructing a new facility that could be supporting the Iranian solid rocket propulsion development, associated with the Sejjil and Ashura missiles or even larger missiles – according to Jane's Intelligence analysts, the site could be associated with the next-generation Simorgh rocket. Another site, prepared few kilometers south of the new construction area seems to be abandoned. Photo: Imagesat. Below: Another image, taken 27 November, 2009 showing the construction progress at the site, with a sizeable gantry tower constructed at the launch site, with an associated launch pad, and fully constructed flame bucket diverting the missile's exhaust gases from the hillside. The launch site is linked through separate tubing, to a nearby, sheltered underground facility located at the upper left hillside. A new construction located close to the launcher, shown at the lower right side of the picture, could be a protected observation site to be provided with video and recording systems. (Photo: Imagesat) ![]() Jane's IHT analysis, based on the use of commercial satellite imagery from DigitalGlobe and GeoEye, has confirmed Defense-Update's findings about this Iranian site. Jane's analysts suggest the new launch pad is being constructed at Iran’s Semnan space centre to support Iran's space program, and it is the site from where Tehran will launch its next-generation Simorgh rocket and future satellites. http://press.ihs.com/photo_display.cfm?photo_id=373 Photo: Digital Globe via Jane's IHS. The images were taken by the new WorldView-2 satellite image on 6 February 2010. Jane’s has reported spotting the site about four kilometres northeast of Iran’s existing launch facility at Semnan. Jane's analysts also identified the tower object as a gantry tower, and the oblique view provided by the World-View 2 satellite positively confirms this assessment. Jane's estimated its dimmensions to measure 13 metres wide, approximately 18 – 20 metres tall, with the cliff-side flame bucket nearly as high as the tower itself. Jane's analysts assume the construction appears midway towards completion. Although the tower is not yet tall enough to facilitate vertical assembly of the 27-metre Simorgh, but analysts expect the launch pad could easily accommodate Iran’s new rocket if the gantry were to be extended by an additional 10 metres. In addition to this site, IHS Jane’s has observed another facility two and a half kilometers to the southwest; between the new site and the existing one. Although this facility is in early stages of construction, its heavily secured nature and restricted access indicate it is a primary element of the newly constructed complex. The development of the Semnan facility and the Simorgh SLV both demonstrate the likelihood of collaboration with North Korea in Iran ’s missile programme. The platforms seen on the new gantry tower resemble those seen on the gantry tower at North Korea ’s new launch pad at Tongchang. A drainage pit 170 metres directly in front of the pad also mirrors one at Pyongyang ’s new west-coast launch site. Similarly, the first stage of the Simorgh strongly resembles the North Korean Unha-2, with four clustered engines and nearly the same dimensions. http://defense-update.com/photos/semnan_space_center_200509.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+DefenseUpdate+%28Defense+Update%29#semnan_nov09 |

I have noticed that too, and it is not just unbelievers but supposed Christians that are lifting their voices against Israel. This really bothers and upsets me to see Christians doing this. I made a defense here, and Israeli(Janet) spoke up for Israel too! (God bless her for that): http://all-things-new.net/single/?p=8095520&t=6676779 |

Assad: It's either peace or war Syrian president tells Hebzollah's al-Manar television, 'We are in a temporary situation which will either end in war or in peace. There is no other choice apart from these two.' Israel, he says, is an enemy which only understands the language of force Roee Nahmias Published: 03.25.10, 00:03 / Israel News Syrian President Bashar Assad told Hezbollah's al-Manar television station on Wednesday evening, "We are in a situation of neither war nor peace, and this is a temporary situation which will either end in peace or in war. There is no other choice apart from these two." According to Assad, "We believe we are facing an enemy which only understands the language of force. We believe peace is not at arm's length for the region, but in any event there are many ways to reach the goals and they must not necessarily go through war." He noted that "the Syrian army is developing itself", and warned that Damascus "will enter any war imposed on us." According to the Syrian president, his country cannot remain neutral when it comes to the "resistance". He also stressed that Syria was interested in having good relations with Lebanon. Al-Manar interview (Photo: AFP) Assad was asked during the interview why his country was avoiding launching a "war of liberation" against Israel. "First of all," he replied, "we are talking about peace. War is the worst thing and no one is looking for war in any place in the world. We must continue seeking peace as long as there is hope. Do we have hope with the Israeli government? Not at all. But we believe that Israel today, according to what we are hearing from Israel's supporters, has no other alternatives apart from peace." 'Our army developing' According to the Syrian president, "The Israeli power of deterrence has worn out over time, although Israel is boosting its power. However, at the same time, the 'resistance' perception is growing stronger as well in the Arab street. In practice, Israel has become weaker and its military force guarantees nothing. "Many of its supporters, especially from the Zionist organizations and several radical Jewish organizations, have begun saying that they believed in war in the past, but now they believe that there is no solution for Israel other than peace. There is no escape but to look for the peace process first. "As for me, in terms of a war of liberation or resistance, the resistance doesn't grow from a decision made by a country, but in a popular way. Syria is a country with a developing army." Asked about the chances for a war against Israel, Assad said: "When a war is imposed on you, you must enter it regardless of the balance of power. But this is not a simple matter and it is not hidden in a declaration of war. This issue is not a matter of enthusiasm." The Syrian president slammed former US President George W. Bush, who he said had failed in the move he led against Damascus. Addressing current US President Barack Obama, Assad said there was a clear difference between the two administrations. "We don't hear the language of dictations. There are differences in the worldviews and its natural, but the dictation language no longer exists," he said. http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3867850,00.html |

There's a new CIA report out....reported in the Washington Times CIA: Iran capable of producing nukes Report finds Tehran keeping options open By Bill Gertz Iran is poised to begin producing nuclear weapons after its uranium program expansion in 2009, even though it has had problems with thousands of its centrifuges, according to a newly released CIA report. ![]() "Iran continues to develop a range of capabilities that could be applied to producing nuclear weapons, if a decision is made to do so," the annual report to Congress states. A U.S. official involved in countering weapons proliferation said the Iranians are "keeping the door open to the possibility of building a nuclear weapon." "That's in spite of strong international pressure not to do so, and some difficulties they themselves seem to be having with their nuclear program," the official said. "There are powerful incentives for them to close the door completely, but they are either purposefully ignoring them or are tone deaf. You almost want to shout, 'Tune in Tehran.'" The CIA report is the latest official study expressing concern over Iran's continuing nuclear activities. The International Atomic Energy Agency on March 3 issued a report warning that continuing nuclear activities in violation of U.N. resolutions raise "concerns about the possible existence in Iran of past or current undisclosed activities related to the development of a nuclear payload for a missile." ...On missiles, the report said Iran is building more short- and medium-range ballistic missiles and stated that "producing more capable medium-range ballistic missiles remains one of its highest priorities." Three test flights of a new 1,240-mile-range Sejil missile were conducted in 2009, the report said, noting that assistance from China, North Korea and Russia "helped move Iran toward self-sufficiency in the production of ballistic missiles." The report also said that Iran has the capability of producing both chemical and biological weapons, and Tehran continued to seek dual-use technology for its bioweapons program. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2010/mar/30/cia-iran-has-capability-to-produce-nuke-weapons/ |

As he left, Mr Netanyahu was told to consider the error of his ways. "I'm still around," Mr Obama is quoted by Israel's Yediot Ahronot newspaper as having said. "Let me know if there is anything new." Obama didn't even offer a half-assed, insincere invitation for Netanyahu to join him — you know, "I'm going to go eat dinner with my family. You don't want to join, do you? It's probably not your type of food. If you want to just relax in here that's totally fine. You look comfortable." That's when you know relations have really become strained. Obama snubbed Netanyahu for dinner with Michelle and the girls, Israelis claim [Telegraph UK] Update: Despite reports that Obama left his meeting with Netanyahu to eat dinner with his family, and others that claim Obama left the meeting to put his daughters to bed, the White House points out to us that such scenarios are impossible, since Michelle, Sasha, and Malia Obama were in New York City that night. |

One of TPTB had some less kind words to describe it all yesterday…… former Secretary of State Lawrence Eagleburger ripped into Obama on Cavuto. Seems that not all TPTB are happy campers. (Eagleburger is deeply entrenched on the Council on Foreign Relations) Here are a few of his comments regarding the way Israel and Bibi are being treated: (The words in bold are the words he emphasized)“I’ve never seen ANYBODY who is as amateurish in the conduct of his foreign relations as this President. He may not be happy with what Netanyahu and Israel are doing but you do not advertise your unhappiness with one of your best allies when what that is going to do is encourage some of your worst enemies to think….well maybe we can take a crack at the Israelis because the US won‘t do anything…..…..It’s DUMB and it is what he has done time and time again. HE CAN'T SEEM TO LEARN!” “The fact is we are showing our own amateurishness every time we do something like this and this President CAN'T GET IT THROUGH HIS HEAD that his actions have consequences outside what he thinks they may be.” “He is playing with FIRE and he is playing with DYNAMITE and he DOESN’T understand and you would think by THIS time he WOULD understand it but he DOESN’T!” “This country isn’t going to be the same when this President is done.” (shaking his head) “We’re tearing down things that don’t need to…that we’ve had a terrible time building up…CAN YOU IMAGINE what we have done to build this relationship with Israel? Now, we have taken it apart……..” |

Israel Begins Disseminating Bio, Chem Defense Kits Tuesday, April 6, 2010 A top Israeli official announced today that the government had started a wide-scale program to provide citizens with materials to protect them against a potential biological or chemical weapons attack, Agence France-Presse reported (see GSN, March 2). "We have equipped ourselves with millions of protection kits against biological or chemical warfare, and a massive distribution program for the population started today," Israeli Deputy Defense Minister Matan Vilnai said. "Every family in Israel can receive these kits at home and be instructed on how to use them by Israeli postal workers, at an average cost of 25 shekels ($5), or pick them up free of charge at post office counters," Vilnai said. The event coincided with a statement made today by a senior Iranian cleric that Tehran would retaliate forcefully if attacked by Israel. Jerusalem has not ruled out the use of force against Iran's nuclear program, which it believes is aimed at producing weapons (see related GSN story, today). "If the enemy takes its chance and fires a missile towards Iran, the dust from an Iranian missile strike will rise in the heart of Tel Aviv even before the dust from the attack settles" in Iran, said Mojtaba Zolnoor, an aide to Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The kit allocation was "not linked to any precise current threat," according to Vilnai. Israel had previously announced it would supply gas masks to the nation's 8 million citizens by 2013. The country has already administered 70,000 gas masks to people residing in a community near Tel Aviv http://www.globalsecuritynewswire.org/gsn/nw_20100406_8847.php 'We'll strike Israel if attacked' By ASSOCIATED PRESS 06/04/2010 16:42 Iran warns of "dust rising" in TA; Teheran "expects" Russia to supply S-300. Repentance is a rocky road best travelled in the day, when there is light, lest darkness comes, and I stumble in the dark...that is to say the Spirit of God will not always strive with man. I will therefore humble myself before the God of heaven and pray, who has called me with a holy calling...to walk this road of repentance..that leads to eternal life. My Webpage | |

http://www.naharnet.com 'Scud Crisis' Threatens War between Israel, Hizbullah A "Scud Crisis" is threatening to ignite an all-out war between Israel and Hizbullah, the Kuwaiti al-Rai newspaper reported. The daily said that Syria has delivered to Hizbullah Scud missiles, sparking a behind-the-scenes crisis after Israel informed Washington that "it will take steps if the U.S. didn't find a solution to what the Jewish state considers a threat to its security." Following the Israeli warning, the U.S. State Department summoned Syrian ambassador Imad Mustafa and asked him "to inform his government about the level of danger if the missiles crossed the border," al-Rai said. Washington also reportedly told Mustafa that the U.S. and other parties are keen to achieve a peaceful solution to the crisis to avoid war. The daily quoted U.S. sources as saying that Israel has sent indirect warnings to Syria through Turkey and Qatar that it would "bomb Lebanese and Syrian targets in case the missiles crossed the border … and reached Hizbullah." However, according to al-Rai, there are conflicting reports about the delivery of the Scud missiles to the Shiite party. Some sources in Washington confirm it, while others say the missiles didn't cross the border into Lebanon. The Kuwaiti newspaper said that U.S. Senator John Kerry discussed the issue with Syrian President Bashar Assad in Damascus lately. "Assad's denial (about the delivery of the weapons) didn't seem convincing for the Americans who were mainly convinced that Damascus delivered the missiles to Hizbullah," al-Rai concluded. U.S. Engages Syria; Syria Escalates Weapons' Supply to Hizballah TUESDAY, APRIL 13, 2010 By Barry Rubin It's completely predictable. In fact, I predicted it. The more U.S. policy engages Syria and stifles criticism of that dictatorship, the more confident (arrogant is a better word) Syria's regime becomes. It continues to help terrorists kill Americans in Iraq; tightens its alliance with Iran; and now sends advanced Scud missiles to Lebanon. At the same time--according to the U.S. Defense Department--Iran is providing advanced anti-aircraft missiles to Hizballah which pass through Syrian hands. Human rights violation continue in Syria, too. Israel is extremely concerned with the build-up which violates the UN resolution and promises made to Israel at the end of the 2006 war. But to raise the whole matter to the heights of satire, Lebanon--whose government includes Hizballah--is now on the UN Security Council and next month will be chairing the Security Council! This is just in time to run the meetings about efforts to put sanctions on Iran, which is of course Hizballah's patron. So to summarize: --Hizballah, a revolutionary terrorist group, violates a UN Security Council resolution but in essence is going to control the UN Security Council. (Sort of goes along nicely with Iran being so powerful on the Human Rights committee while Libya has chaired the General Assembly.) --Syria keeps slapping the United States in the face but it has no apparent effect on U.S. policy. The more the Obama Administration engages Syria, the more Syria embraces Iran. Senator John Kerry, head of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee--when I was working in the Senate he was regarded as a zero--is now energetically championing U.S.-Syria detente, advised by Robert Malley, friend of America's enemies, no less. Where is Lewis Carroll now that we need him. (see note) So, does the U.S. government draw any conclusions from this? Does it criticize Syria or reinstitute sanctions or postpone sending the U.S. ambassador back? Well, Congress is angry, but as for the White House, as I warned it won't criticize Syria or put pressure on it lest that interfere with engagement! For the United States, engagement has become an end in itself. For Syria, taking over Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, the Palestinians, and Israel, while driving U.S. influence out of the region is an end in itself. Note: Lewis Carroll wrote Alice in Wonderland which, in the days before Middle East policy, was the greatest fantasy in the world. The Rubin Report |

PROBABLY HAD MORE IMPORTANT THINGS TO DO, LIKE WATCH BASKETBALL.
Seems that not all TPTB are happy campers. (Eagleburger is deeply entrenched on the Council on Foreign Relations) Here are a few of his comments regarding the way Israel and Bibi are being treated: (The words in bold are the words he emphasized)
