I was living in the desert of Valencia County, New Mexico, 35 miles from town or any living person. It was hard to get to town, it took an hour and a half to go the first 20 miles to hit the nearest pavement. I had built up a compound there in the middle of nowhere, in the very place where I could dig alabaster from the ground and make sculptures in a small shop I had built to work in. I had to carry water from town in barrels and I had a generator for electricity.

It was in this remote place that I found a vital relationship with the Lord in 1999 when after almost 10 years of backsliding I had my God encounter. The Lord had talked with me outright there for many days, and having had such a wonderful life there in this desert place I just wanted to stay, just the Lord and I, and no one else. I was single and I was happy there just the Lord and I. I did not need anyone else.

I had a difficult time going to church because of the roads (some people would not even call them roads, for they were only tire tracks, cut out by old ranch trucks and ranchers, looking after the cattle). It took over an hour and a half to just get to the paved highway 20 miles from the compound, and than anothor 30 minutes to get to a church.

I left very early on a Sunday morning heading out with my Bible, on my way to church. It was such pretty weather I forgot to take my flashlight and shovel which I never left home without. You never know when a qick storm cloud will come up, I might get stuck and need the shovel to dig out. I always went with a flashlight for in the desert there was no electricity.

I ususally only stayed for the morning services, than got supplies heading back into my desert hide away, to be alone again with the Lord, but after the service that day the pastor got rather insistant with me. Somewhat misunderstanding as to why I never attended the evening service. He sorta let me have it...."You talk about being such a good Christian, than why not come back tonight??"

I stayed, knowing very well it would be DARK THIRTY before I would arrive home, but I was sure I would shut his mouth. I had tried to tell him..."You just do not know where I live." To that he had said that we must be willing to give the Lord all of our lives...!

Well by the time I got out of church that evening, and was finally at the dropping off place into the desert, heading into the outback, it was past 9 pm, it was dark as a sack of black cats. I was not worried, for I knew the roads like the back of my hand. Most people would not have gone down that trail, even in the best daylight.

As Traveled along there is one stretch in the road where (if you know the road you might) if careful go 35 MPH for a few minutes. I had a problem with my headligts on my old 85 ford flatbed dooley. The headlights would work for a while on bright than all of a sudden they just went off, leaving you sitting there looking at black nothing. So I had to keep them on dim, and the old dim lights did not work very well either. I came over a hill headed down into a draw and suddenly there they were, ALL THE COWS AND A BULL walking right up the road. It happened so quickly I did not have time to do anything except hold on. The lights blinded the bull and with all of his very large frame he hit the drivers side headlight with his head so hard it knocked the truck off course and sent me over the embankment. When all the dust settled, I jumped from the truck, running to the front of the truck, now half on and half off a steap bank. The other light shined but I could see nothing, I WAS LOOKING FOR THE BULL because I was concerned for him, and I was afraid if he died, I would have to pay my frined the rancher. It was so dark I could not see very well, but I could see he had ran off most likely with a very sore head. Ha.

There I was hung up high center on the side of the road without a flash light and I could hear the water running out of the truck radiator on the ground. I could feel that the finder was crumpled up, the headlight demolished and most of the grill and the hood was jamed and bent. I had a bar in the back of the truck and I finally pried the jamed hood up so I could feel the hole in the radiator. The force of the bulls head had driven the radiator into the fan blades and taken out about 3 tubes in the radiator.

I was stuck in the middle of nowhere. I finally figured out that I could not move the truck backwards even if I was free from the high center, If I could get free, perhaps I could move on down the incline and go around back to the ranch road through the open pasture. I walked into the very dim moon light feeling with my feet the texture of the ground. After walking through the sagebrush to my suprise I found anothor road about a hundred yards away that would take me right back to the road, IF I COULD GET TO IT WITHOUT GETTING STUCK. I WAS PRAYING ALL THE TIME, SAYING LORD I THANK YOU THE BULL IS NOT DEAD, AND I PRAISE YOU THAT I AM STUCK HERE IN THIS DESERT. AFTER ALL I LOVE YOU AND YOU ARE WITH ME.

I went back crawling under the truck with stick and my bare hands and finally managed to move enough dirt from under the frame to get the back tire back on ground. I got into the truck and started the engine and by the grace of God I was able to pull out through the pasture to the little road and I returned to the main road. I than stopped the truck which was getting hot and put in more water than moving quickly I traveled on into the dark, stopping and filling it again and again with water. I finally arrived home past midnight. Turning the lights off, I went in and fell in bed. I lay there thanking the Lord for helping me get home, and for the Bull who as far as I knew only had a sore head!

The next morning I pulled the radiator out and summised the damage. It would take a hot torch to fix and repar the damaged tubes, which I did not have. All I had was a very small electric soldering gun and some solder.

I prayed Father God, In the name of Jesus, you know I need a torch and a lot of heat to properly fix this but I do not have it. Please put your finger on this solder and make it hot enough to seal this damage tight enough to hold the hot water and pressure of the radiator. AND LORD send an Angel to help me. Please do not let the devil steal all my money to get this fixed and help me that I will not have to walk out of here and back to town by foot. In Jesus Name, amen

I put it all together again the best I could do, not doing a very good job, I knew that when the heat and hot water hit that poorly repaired spot IT WOULD TAKE A MIRACLE FOR IT TO HOLD. After it was done, I filled it up with water. I told the Lord, I will drive it to the bottom of the hill, about 1 half mile, than stop, after the water heats up, and I will see that you have fixed this for me. Amen I was doing all I could to speak faith over this.

I drove to the bottom of the Hill, got out and to my disappointment the water was just running out almost as fast as it had the night before. It ran down on the front end and frame and was dripping on the ground forming puddles of hot water.

I jumped up and instead of kicking the truck and saying bad words as many might have said, (and I was tempted, for I was exausted)....I RAN OUT ON TOP OF A LITTLE HILL AND BEGAN TO SHOUT TO THE TOP OF MY LUNGS AND PRAISED THE LORD OVER AND OVER AGAIN. The Spirit of the Lord HIT ME AND I GOT HAPPY and I forgot all about the truck for a moment. I looked out over that valley in the desert and I SHOUTED....DEVIL I WANT YOU TO KNOW I WOULD NOT SERVE YOU OR CUSS GOD FOR ANY REASON, AND IF I HAVE TO WALK FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE....I WILL DO IT FOR JESUS! I WILL SERVE JESUS AND WALK TRUE FOR HIM.

Walking back to the truck I could not see any water!!!! O well, it all ran out I thought, but as I got close I could not see any puddles of water on the ground. I exclaimed, Lord what happened to the water???? I ran my hands over the front end and the frame were moments before the water had been dripping and running down and it was dry as a bone. I ran my hands through the desert sand, and it was dry as power!!!!! ALL THE WATER WAS GONE. IT HAD ONLY BEEN MOMENTS....

Jumping to my feet I PRAISED GOD FOR FIXING MY TRUCK.

It was during the time that I was praising Him instead of being defeated. I had done that which PLEASED THE LORD.....PRAISE. HE HEALED MY TRUCK.

If he can heal a truck he can HEAL YOU!!! HE CAN DO ANYTHING!!!

I testify to you that I still had water in the radiator, I was able to drive back to the trailer and I have drove that truck THOUSANDS OF MILES since that time AND I HAVE NEVER LOST ANY MORE WATER, NOR HAVE I EVEN LOOKED AT THE SPOT THAT THE LORD PLACE HIS FINGER ON AND SOLDERED IT WITH THE HEAT OF HIS FIRE. I believe the same finger He wrote with on Moses' tablets of stone.

PRAISE HIS HOLY NAME
