EMP attack: Overlooked catastrophe
Exclusive: Hal Lindsey warns of Iran putting West back to 19th century

When Iran successfully launched its first domestically made satellite into orbit on Feb. 1, U.S. State Department official Robert Wood said Iran's activities could "possibly lead to the development of ballistic missiles" and were of "great concern."

French Foreign Ministry spokesman Eric Chevallier said France was "very concerned" about the launch.

UK Foreign Office Minister Bill Rammell said the launch underlined the UK's "serious concerns about Iran's intentions." Then they resumed their focus on their various economic implosions where "concerned" had been elevated to "alarmed."

What continues to astonish me is how little Western nations seem to grasp the tremendous danger that Iran is signaling in plain view. I have produced at least two television shows and as many articles in which I sought to warn of Iran's intention to use its rapidly developing nuclear warheads in an EMP attack against Israel, the EU and the U.S.

In an article I wrote for WorldNetDaily in July 2007, I noted a 1998 Iranian missile test that "failed, detonating some 40 seconds after launch after reaching an altitude of 180 miles. This is the approximate ideal altitude to detonate a nuclear warhead for an EMP attack on a country."

I was astonished at how little attention Western military planners gave Iran's successful satellite launch. What little attention it did get focused on the probability that Iran could use the satellite launch technology to build an ICBM.

(Column continues below)

Launching an EMP attack with rather simple nuclear bombs is far easier than developing long-range ballistic nuclear missiles for a direct attack. It is also considerably safer for the attacking country.

Caroline Glick noted recently in the Jerusalem Post that an "article published in Iran's security journal Nashriyeh-e Siasi Nezami in 1999 identified an EMP attack as a way to defeat the U.S. as a military power and as a state."

It is also worth noting that a nuclear weapon detonated 180 miles above the United States would generate an EMP pulse that experts say would instantly plunge half the country into the technological 1800s.

Now that Iran is capable of launching satellites, Tehran needn't worry about developing ICBM capabilities. In the same Jerusalem Post article, Glick writes, "Three to five nuclear bombs of any size, launched into space on satellites and detonated above the U.S., Europe and Asia would send Western Civilization back to the 19th century.

It is simply astonishing that Western intelligence agencies are ignoring the threat posed by an Iranian satellite-launched EMP attack.

To put the most advanced nations on earth back technologically by a full century is the ultimate strategy. And Iran has signaled in plain language and actions that an EMP strike against the West is the most likely scenario. As noted above, Iran's mullah's have openly discussed the use of an EMP attack against the U.S.

An EMP attack by Iran on Israel, the U.S. and EU would overnight send the most technically developed nations on earth back to the middle of the 19th century. All our electrical grids would be destroyed. There would be no communications by satellite, TV, radios, telephones; no transportation as we know it, no water, no fuel, no electricity, no food, no stoves, no heat, no air-conditioning, no functioning hospitals, no elevators, no law and order, no computers, no banks, very little work force. In addition, there would be very few military weapons systems that would work.

In the light of this, we should immediately begin to make back-ups for our most essential infrastructure systems. We should shield as many critical electrical systems as possible as fast as we can.

At the same time, we should do whatever is necessary to stop Iran from getting nuclear bombs. Expensive? Yes! But not nearly as expensive as it will be after an EMP attack. I believe that if we don't do something immediately, that attack will come.

I never thought I would say this, but just maybe this is the reason that in chapter 38 of Ezekiel he predicts that the armies that invade Israel in the last days are all riding horses. Could it be that Ezekiel's prophecy is more literal than any of us dared to believe?

Found this thought it might help some understand more, if seen in a science experiment.

Saw that on Futureweapons, pretty drastic when used in a full scale type attack. Solar flares can also achieve the same results at the levels that were seen in the 1800s. {And the stars fell from the sky like untimely figs[satellites struck by solar winds?]}
Just take a second and imagine the citizens of the li'l ol'e US having to do without their 'precious' cell phones{boo-hoo}, their satellite radio, etc...Not a pretty picture;-{ Vehicles nonfunctional{except for very old classics without electronic ignition},,Hmmmm: seems that OLDER is BETTER, LOL;-}

I had a dream this morning that I was getting in my car and started it when all of a sudden there was a, hm, not sure how to describe it -- a sensation of sorts, you know, like the feeling you get when the power suddenly goes off, your senses perk up... and then my car died.....the person behind me their car died......all lights everywhere went off.....and I thought.....we just had an EMP go off........

Then, a few mintues later.....all power to cars, lights etc. came back on........... :duh
I'm sure the dream meant nothing...just too much reading on these boards! :bhind sofa
Isaiah 57:1The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come.
2He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness.
Isaiah 53:4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

Little problem with the EMP scenario ... The US government has all their military hardware protected from EMP. Another thing to consider this could also be a blessing in disguise because the banks records would be destroyed too.
