Waterfall, do not rule out a disaster from the heavens either. If you study Immanuel Velikovsky or Jim McCanney, you realize that many of the disasters in the Bible and recorded history (and throughout Earth's earlier history) were probably caused by the close approach of large comets. High levels of red material in the air mimic the blood of the Egyptian plagues in Exodus. This was probably caused by the Earth passing through the tail of material from a large comet. The moon turning blood red could be caused by high gravitation tidal forces from a comet 'squeezing' lava onto the surface of the moon. We do not need nuclear weapons to explain many of the phenomena mentioned by Jesus or by the OT prophets about signs in the heavens. Passing comets produce all of the effects mentioned by Jesus. They would also strike unimaginable terror in everyone's heart as well. No one is teaching the theories of Velikovsky anymore and very, very few would understand what was happening if one of these came upon us. But we would see a large comet coming, right? It couldn't sneak up on us, right? Earth has a serious blind spot: the lower portion of our southern hemisphere. The area is constantly covered with thick clouds and haze, making ground based observations difficult. A South Pole Telescope was recently erected but I have not seen any data from it. Perhaps the data is only for the elite of the world. I don't know. A comet could come out of the south and be upon us quickly. A large comet would interact with Earth electrically and gravitationally. We could see a large pollution event if we passed through the tail. The earth shaking could be immense and seeing a large comet that close would drive many mad. The fear factor would be off the charts. The oceans would go wild from the gravitational forces. I do not have a word from the Lord that this is what might happen soon. There are certainly other possibilities. Ancient history is full of catastrophic events. We do not live in a benign, fuzzy universe. It is fraught with peril. We must remember our history: if a disaster from above does come upon us, we need to be ready for it. Food stores, seed stores, gardening knowledge and tools will certainly be useful. A heart knowledge of the the loving kindness of the Lord is the ONLY thing that will keep us sane and His strength is the only thing that would get us through such a catastrophe. I pray that other possibilities manifest and a large comet does not pay a visit to our neighborhood in our lifetimes. |

dibldabl, COMET ALERT: Earlier today, the SOHO spacecraft detected a comet plunging toward the sun and it appears headed for closest approach during Friday's total eclipse. Experienced astronomers in the path of totality may be able to photograph the doomed comet shining like a 5th or 6th magnitude star about 2o from the edge of the eclipsed sun. Dibldabl, I know what I was shown was not a comet. In one of the dreams, I was in the Monterey or Santa Cruz area of the coast of Ca (BTW I have never been there personally) and I looked up to see the missle flying through the air north towards SF and then.......the explosion. It was definitely a missle, no doubt about it. In the dream I was given the knowledge that it was terrorist-related. Personally, I think most of the judgements in Rev.are referring to nuclear war. There is the reference to the sky rolling up like a scroll..........that's exactly what happens when a nuclear bomb goes off. I disagree HIGHLY with you that God's universe is frought with peril and danger. It is a beautiful creation that obeys it's Creator to the "nth" degree. Nothing goes awry or comes near us without His expressed permission and plan. Do not fear............and don't watch too much Star Trek (*wink! wink!*) |

Hi Waterfall, I didn't mean to imply that there was not a missile involved.  I do believe that nuclear explosions are very likely in our near future as our world destabilizes due to severe financial problems, resource shortages, and the spiritual conflict that is part of the End of Days. I only bring up the large comet phenomena as something to keep in mind as a possible cause for some of the apocalyptic destruction coming upon our world. Ancient history records some pretty intense surface phenomena on our planet in the past due to passing bodies including mountain building, tsunamis pushing hundreds of miles inland, intense atmospheric noise and disturbances, meteor storms impacting the planet, as well as chemical pollution of all kinds. We have not experienced these things in modern times, so most tend to dismiss these historical accounts as fables or even superstitions. As Christians, we know the Lord created the Heavens and the Earth. He is a mighty God. Sometimes, we tend to forget how very large and complex His creation is, that just because we haven't seen a near-earth passage of a large body does not mean it cannot happen. It probably has happened numerous times in the past. Thankfully, God works on a small scale as well as a cosmic one and does have things of all sizes under His control. Whether some of the destruction we will see in coming days are due to nuclear weapons, cosmic phenomena, or both, I'll leave up to Him. They will be terrible to behold but, if we are here, we will be under His protection. I am a great fan of Star Trek, having watched all of the movies more times than I'd like to admit. But the the only beaming I dream about is called the Rapture.

I'm just teasing about the Star Trek.........a little humor. Well, it WILL be interesting to see what happens............how all these judgements will come to pass. Oh, by the way, if you check out the science on how most of the large mountains ranges were formed, it was during Noah's flood and the splitting of the earth's crust into plates. I've never heard about comets causing mountain ranges, except on the moon (large craters). Where did you get your data? |

That strong feeling of impending doom??? Guess what. I dont usually get them either but this time yesterday I had a very nasty feeling too. I could not put a finger on what it was. It was like a the tension and sense of helplessness you feel if you are in big trouble or facing a disaster..but there was nothing I could put the feeling to. It was just there. I phoned my pastor (Who is a very powerful and very VERY accurate prophet as well..100% accurate) and told him of this feeling. I said "I am sorry to interrupt your visitors but I need to tell you whats going on...I have a very very bad feeling in my spirit..like the bottom just fell out of the world or something. Normally I would not call you on a mere "feeling" but this is INTENSE..and I need a second opinion as to what it could mean" He said "The Lord is about to move...remember the 15th...the line has been drawn and what you are feeling now is the terrible sense of what is about to happen. The Spirit is even now setting the mark for the final seperation of the truly righteous from the ones playing games..and once the day comes sides will remain and there will be no more choices for the church and you will live with your choice for eternity. The Lord is about to begin the judgment on the house of God and the world immediatley after" I asked Him "So what will happen on the 15th?...why do I feel such..sadness..mixed with a deep groaning..mixed with a sort of intense worry..mixed with a kind of terror? I remember reading vision a few years ago about how God was going to reverse what's been happening. Up until now, those in the world have been generally obliviously happy - not completely but in many ways. Meanwhile, God's people, those who are aware of their sin and unhappy about not yet overcoming and perhaps their lives in general are miserable. God is about to REVERSE it to the way it should be. God's children will become completely whole and full of inexpressible joy while those to remain in the world will begin to loose their false sense of security becoming more and more fearful until their lives are completely tormented by fear, no more pleasure in sin although they continue to be trapped in it, doomed to do it again and again without hope of deliverance or restraint. According to the vision, it was a gradual thing. The little insecurities and fears in the unbeliever will begin slowly an subtly at first - perhaps just little moments here and there but eventually it will take over their whole life. What FC's pastor said is really alarming. I always feel like, you know, WHO can ever be ready for the Living God? WHO has never been lukewarm or played games with God? I am SO convicted these days. Spent yesterday listening to Leonard Ravenhill. Yesterday was a MAJOR heavy day for repentance and soul searching and I just thought it was my usual agonizing . But now I see it was a wonderful warning in the Holy Spirit and I am GLAD. I love the convictions of the Holy Spirit for without them I know I would fall away into deep sin. I can be a real low life sometimes. Lazarusty, good word! |

Two things. I have to agree, what FC's pastor said has struck a cord with me as well. Second, since Pinky decided I have a quake detector, (Wink-Wink) I've been fine. This morning I woke up with it happening again. I post these because I WANT to be proven wrong. It is very disturbing for me. (Nice to know I'm not the only Trekker around.) I agree Israeli! (Not that your a low life, but the other things  ). Isn't it great when the Holy Spirit puts things in order in our lives? I had the same feelings. I felt as if nothing else is about to matter but Him and Him alone. I felt the urgency to get things right in my life, to bring order to the things that are out of balance such as reading the word, meditating on it, praying, and OBEYING. I was looking up in the sky last night and I just began to feel awed by His presence. Lately this scripture has been with me:1 John 2:28 And now, dear children, remain in fellowship with Christ so that when he returns, you will be full of courage and not shrink back from him in shame. |
