Hi Road ~ I'd like to address the question "If - just supposing - you don't get raptured before the tribulation, will you still love Him?" for a reason - because I KNOW you believe that. And you KNOW many don't. So, what if you are wrong?? I think Kathy's answer would be YES, as would be many of us who look for the Harpazo-Snatch Out-Rapture to be prior to the tribulation. Kathy is seeking for the LORD first here and now, and she, as well as many of us are quite aware of all the "what IF's" there can be. And IF we be wrong concerning the exact timing of the Rapture, and if our purpose here on earth will be to face a tragedy or persecution or tribulation or martyrdom for the sake of Jesus, I rest assured that the LORD will provide His grace and mercy and help and deliverance and what we need just at the time we need it as He will do for mid-tribbers, post-tribbers, and pan-tribbers and whatever sort of tribbie thing we can devise. Ah, the "Trouble with Tribbies"!! (apologies to old Star Trekkies) We are all still in the journey, learning and growing, and I seriously expect that a lot of our pet "doctrines" that we tenaciously put ahead of agape love will go flying out the window as we edge closer to the Tribulation. My question to those who are NOT pre-trib ... Will you all still love us (so-called) "deluded ones" and help us when the times get rough and tough? Or will you slam the door in our faces, and say "Told you so - go away - only have enuf for me & my own."? As it is, THIS TOPIC was for Kathy to get input and scripture so she can get her focus more on God's love for her NOW. So, yes, Kathy was right to ask to go back to topic. Thanks for letting me share. |

That sounds quite lovely, but scripture seems to suggest an entirely different response. "Then they will hand you over to suffer and will kill you, and you will be hated by all the nations because of my name. Then many people will fall away, will betray one another, and will hate one another." Matthew 24:14
We love you now, in spite of our differences and will continue to walk in the love of Christ when times get tough. And no we won't slam the door in your faces and say "we told you so" like the way that we have been treated. But the tribulation will try each man's work. More than likely you will be tried by the same words that you just wrote... it is written that we will give an account for every word that comes out of our mouth. Remember Peter... he was tested by His own words after He told Jesus that he would never deny him. Yet Jesus said "you will deny me three times". So the trial came... and Peter learned his weakness and repented. |

[sigh] I guess I'm going to have to ask Wil to close this thread. I said I didn't want it sidetracked into a pre-Trib/post-Trib debate, and that's exactly what it's turning into. You post-Tribbers are trying to goad me into another debate, and I am not taking the bait. PLEASE TAKE THE DEBATE TO ANOTHER THREAD!!! Thank you! Edited by kgreen20, Jul 24 2008, 04:17 PM.

Excellent explanation roadtozion! The Lord brought to my attention a certain scripture yesterday. It was this one: John 6:53-59 53Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. 54Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. 55For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. 56Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him. 57Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me. 58This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your forefathers ate manna and died, but he who feeds on this bread will live forever." 59He said this while teaching in the synagogue in Capernaum. He told me that, just like your explaination of baptism, that it is about being emerged or consumed in Him, not only about partaking of Holy Communion, but partaking of His life and His death. To love Him above any and everything else, which goes back to the commandment to love the Lord God with all of our mind and strength and our neighbor as ourselves. Sorry Kathy, didn't mean to derail your thread... |

Matthew 16:26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

Sigh. Thank you for sharing your heart, MoreofHim. I certainly will take what you said, er, wrote, in prayer to Abba Father. |

That's quite all right, SpiritisWilling. You weren't trying to start or continue a debate here. |

I would do as God directs. Brethren are Brethren and we are required to help one another. I cannot speak for anyone else. And I was trying to answer her question - per my own experience with having to set things aside to bring my walk into line with His TRUTH.
Which is, essentially, my point. But, because I put my finger on a sore topic, my point was ignored.
Nor was I. I was trying to get you to think, not debate.
I was not. If that is what you perceived, I am sorry. But obviously, my voice is not being heard, so I will exit ...... |

Take heed that no man deceive you. That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: | |

I apologize, ROADtoZION. Your real point was missed. At least by me. Can't speak for all who post here, but many of us are extremely sensitive to the pre-trib / post-trib issue. This forum recently had a few threads (now unavailable) where the pre-trib and post-trib issues were more than just shared/discussed and we lost a long-time member of ATN over misunderstandings. We all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. I certainly don't want misunderstandings or hard feelings over whether we stay or we go, and at this point, I intend on doing those end-time studies from here on out in other venues.
