Two Large-Moderate Quakes Hit Back-to-Back Cascadia Subduction Zone

by Mitch Battros - Earth Changes Media

The Cascadia Subduction Zone continues to show increased activity. Two more large-moderate earthquakes measuring 5.6 and 5.2 magnitude occurred just minutes ago. This followed two earlier quakes this afternoon measuring 4.4 and 4.1 mag.

Earthquakes this size are highly unusual as it relates to 'swarm' activity. The Cascadia Subduction Zone is being watched very closely by seismologist from around the world. This location is known to produce mega-quakes measuring into the high eight's and low nine's.
