Suzanne, Conroe, TX, Remnant Ministries: Warnings To Houston and Gulf Coast

We are hearing reports all over the Houston area that people are having
dreams, visions, words of prophecy, etc that Houston is going to get hit
with a major storm this year, most likely in september 2008- though we
have seen general prophecies of judgment over Houston and Gulf Coast on
several websites- no one seems to have "picked up," that He is warning
possibly thousands (or millions) of people in the Houston area to
"prepare" in various ways- buy more insurance, find a place to evacuate,
etc... is there any place we can get this word out nationally to try to
warn the people to get ready and prepare? the individual words people
are getting is that because of the larger population areas the judgment
will be many more times worse than Katrina.. we have tried alerting the
pastors but they don't want to "scare" the people and when people are
having these dreams and words- they are being dismissed by the spiritual
leaders... we are only discovering this ourselves because we are
connected with several prophetic groups and we "paid attention" to what
the Spirit is saying. Is there any way to get this word out nationally?
I believe that the judgment will not only be for the various reasons He
has showed several of us, but also because after over 30 years of
"spirit filled teachings," the people in the Bible Belt, still do not
have ears to hear. Blessings in Him, Suzanne (and Brad), Remnant

As with my vision on May 12th,

I was shown that we have been given time to prepare and prepare well. I understand that I had an unusually long time to look at the ways in which the homeowner had prepared for the storm, meant that we had time to be prepared for this and it should not take us by surprise. God is Merciful!

prophecies concerning Houston area

Shalom, since March 2008 we have discovered over 25 prophecies concerning a
"storm" coming to Houston area sometime after Aug. 15, 2008 which will be many
times worse than the Hurricane Katrina crises. All of the
prophecies/dreams/visions have been the same scenario... huge wave, Houston
under water, bodies floating and the oil rigs and chemical plants on fire above
the water. We have now had people as far away as Dallas and Shreveport, LA who
did not know about the previous prophecies- all having the same scenario in the
dream/vision. Several of us, after having prayed to "escape:" Houston - have had
open doors to move out of the area. The words have also come forth about this
storm that the waters will flood as far away west as San Antonio and Austin and
the rivers will flood as far north as Dallas and Texarkana. Though we had the
urgency this would happen sometime after Aug. 15, we did not have an exact
confirmation until the Apostle in Dallas had the dream.. with the Lord speaking
that it would happen, "in less than 3 months." He had this dream the week of
June25, 2008. If anyone else has had these dreams or words, please let us know.
We are trying to get the word out so people?will relocate from Houston asap..
unfortunately though we have published the prophecies in a packet, most people
are hoping that "they can pray it away and judgment won't happen." Shalom,
Suzanne, Remnant Ministries, Conroe, TX (now relocated to NW Louisiana)

Tropical Storm Dolly has just formed in the Gulf and it looks like it is heading towards South Texas/Northern Mexico. This thing looks HUGE and wouldn't take much for it to move north. Houston is on the eastern (bad) side of this storm. The forecast doesn't look very bad at the moment but we didn't think Katrina looked that bad either.

Katrina wouldn't have been so bad if the force of the storm hadn't busted all those levees. That's what made the aftermath so bad, so devastating. To my knowledge, Houston has no levees, so unless a Category 5 hits it, it should be OK after any hurricane.

That sounds more like flooding from a tidal wave than a storm. The word storm is in parentisis so maybe the writer was indicating that the storm may not be literal?

Katrina was a cat 3 when it made landfall and a cat 2 when the eye came over MY HOME. The devastation to Gulfport was unbelievable. I have friends that lost everything and are STILL fighting with their insurance companies. I'm not trying to downplay the problems that New Orleans faced but their problems during Katrina were man made. And we were completely forgotten in Mississippi because of it.

We were without water, power, gas, food, emergency services, health care, etc. for 10 days. A hurricane doesn't have to reach a Cat 5 to completely devastate a town.

The latest on Dolly, Houston is among the cities being told to prepare for a possible hit. We'll see what happens, but doesn't appear at this time that it will become the disastrous storm that is being warne about.

Texas, Mexico prepare for Tropical Storm Dolly

By CHRISTOPHER SHERMAN
Associated Press Writer

McALLEN, Texas (AP) -- Texas mobilized National Guard troops and residents along the Gulf Coast near the Mexican border were buying plywood, flashlights and other supplies as Tropical Storm Dolly - expected by forecasters to strengthen into a hurricane this week - headed their way.

Hurricane warnings were issued late Monday for parts of the Texas and Mexico coasts, meaning hurricane conditions were expected in those areas by the end of Tuesday.

Dolly was expected to make landfall later this week and bring with it high winds and 10 to 20 inches of rain in coastal areas. Emergency officials feared major flooding problems and urged coastal residents to prepare. Gov. Rick Perry activated 1,200 National Guard troops and other emergency crews and Shell Oil said it was evacuating workers from oil rigs in the western Gulf Of Mexico.

Even as far up the coast as the Houston area, Harris County officials told residents to be ready in case the storm changes course and heads their way.

The National Hurricane Center in Miami issued a hurricane warning from Brownsville north to Port O'Connor. Meanwhile, a tropical storm warning was issued from Port O'Connor to the San Luis Pass, a strait south of Galveston.

Mexico also announced a hurricane warning from Rio San Fernando north to the U.S. border. A tropical storm warning and a hurricane watch were also in effect from La Pesca to Rio San Fernando.

Forecasters said Dolly was expected to make landfall late Tuesday or early Wednesday as a Category 1 hurricane, which has with sustained winds of 74 mph to 95 mph.

Texas officials said they wouldn't order evacuations along the coast unless Dolly strengthens to a Category 3, with sustained winds of at least 111 mph.

At 5 a.m. EDT Tuesday, the center of Tropical Storm Dolly was located about 295 miles southeast of Brownsville. It was moving west at about 15 mph and had maximum sustained winds near 60 mph. Tropical storm-force winds extended outward up to 160 miles.

Dolly's winds were expected to strengthen Tuesday to hurricane force, which would mean at least 74 mph.

There are about 2 million people in the Rio Grande Valley, which includes popular summer beach resort South Padre Island. Officials readied to evacuate residents in flood-prone areas and urged RV owners on South Padre to head for higher ground.

"That amount of rain will present a big flooding problem for us," said Cameron County Emergency Management Coordinator Johnny Cavazos.

Mindful of the disastrous evacuation before Hurricane Rita hit the Texas Gulf Coast in 2005 - when far more people died from heat-related injuries and auto accidents fleeing the storm than from the severe weather - Gov. Perry also ordered 250 buses to be staged in San Antonio. He also ordered fuel teams to be ready to keep gas stations supplied and to help stranded motorists.

In the Houston area on Monday, Harris County Judge Ed Emmett asked residents of the state's most populous county to keep their gas tanks full, stock up on supplies and make sure they have plans ready to either evacuate or ride out a storm.

At a Home Depot in Brownsville near the border between the two countries, residents bought plywood, generators, batteries and flashlights, said store operations manager John Paul Martinez. He said a lot of people were just learning of Dolly, which became a tropical storm Sunday.

The federal government was trying to decide whether they could begin construction on a new border fence, which was to be combined with levee improvements along the Rio Grande in Hidalgo County.

While project supervisors met with emergency officials about the storm, large cranes unloaded steel beams and other supplies at a staging area near the levee Monday. Concrete walls will be incorporated into the river side of the levees to keep floodwaters, illegal immigrants and smugglers out.

The county is upgrading other levees and informed contractors Monday they should activate plans to prevent flooding, said Godfrey Garza, head of Hidalgo County Drainage District 1.

Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Cristobal was moving toward the northeast at about 21 mph, away from the U.S. Cristobal was located about 485 miles northeast of Cape Hatteras, N.C., with maximum sustained winds near 60 mph. Forecasters said the storm, which dumped rain on the coast of the Carolinas, was no longer an immediate threat to the U.S.

In the Pacific, Tropical Storm Genevieve strengthened slightly off Mexico's coast, but forecasters said the storm was not expected to threaten land. Tropical Storm Fausto, which had been a hurricane, also was weakening and moving out to sea.

HOUSTON ON ALERT: EDOUARD COULD BE NEAR HURRICANE STRENGTH AT LANDFALL

Tropical storm forms in oil area of Gulf of Mexico

Sun Aug 3, 2008 6:30pm
(Reuters) - The fifth tropical storm of the 2008 Atlantic hurricane season formed near a major oil and gas producing area of the northern Gulf of Mexico on Sunday, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said.

Tropical Storm Edouard, located around 95 miles southeast of the mouth of the Mississippi River by 6 p.m. EDT, was expected to come ashore at close to hurricane strength in a few days on the Texas coast, the Miami-based hurricane center said.

One of the computer models used to predict storm paths and intensities indicated Edouard could become a hurricane, with winds in excess of 74 miles per hour (119 km per hour), the hurricane center said. But its official forecast called for Edouard to top out at 60 knots, or 69 mph (111 kph).

Edouard's top sustained winds had reached 45 mph (75 kph) by 6 p.m. It was moving west at 6 mph (9 kph) on a track that would take it to the upper Texas coast by Tuesday.

Much of U.S. offshore oil production was in the likely path of the storm, which could also threaten Gulf Coast refineries.

Oil companies have been working to strengthen platforms to withstand hurricane-force winds and so storm level winds should not pose an undue threat.

A series of powerful hurricanes in 2004 and 2005, including Hurricane Katrina, toppled oil rigs and severed pipelines in the Gulf, where the U.S. produces almost a third of its crude and 15 percent of its natural gas.

A tropical storm warning, meaning tropical storm conditions could be expected within 24 hours, was posted from the Mississippi River westward to Intracoastal City in Louisiana.

A tropical storm watch, meaning storm conditions are likely to occur within 36 hours, was issued for the coastline west of Intracoastal City to Port O'Connor in Texas.

The six-month hurricane season, which began on June 1, has already seen two of its four storms strengthen into hurricanes. This July was the third most active month of July for storms since Atlantic hurricane season records began in 1851.

The early and unusually vigorous storm activity has given storm experts reason to believe that predictions for an above average season could turn out to be accurate.

Among the storms this year, Hurricane Dolly came ashore on the southern Texas coast on July 23, dousing the area with tremendous downpours but causing relatively little damage.

Hurricane Bertha grazed Bermuda and became the eighth longest-lived Atlantic storm on record before fading over the cool waters of the northern Atlantic while Tropical Storm Cristobal brought heavy rain to the Carolinas.

I know the above was back in July with a different storm, but seeing your location on the map, it looks like you are about to get quite a bit of Hurricane Ike! Can you please keep in touch with us here at the forum (if you can) and keep us informed? Praying for the safety of you and your family.

More from Suzanne, we'll know in a few hours if the damage is as bad as described:

Date: June 16, 2008 at 19:23:43
From: Suzanne
Subject: Re: Houston area about to burn

Everytime I try to give details, the letter "disappears," so all I can say is that the Lord is trying to get people out of Houston as fast as He can, but few will listen. My husband just got transferred further north and other friends who do listen are also miraculously getting jobs in North East Texas, etc. ,Basically HE has showed us (with many confirmations) to be out of Houston by middle of August because there will be a huge hurricane and it will knock over chemical and oil plants to the extent that it will be worse than a nuclear bomb. Don't worry about selling your property, just get lots of insurance because by mid Sept. there will be no jobs.. so just find any job you can and get relocated now. ,Hint, don't go to Dallas, it will be a madhouse or any other huge city.

Blessings in Yeshua, Suzanne, Remnant Ministries, Conroe, TX

Ike Strikes Galveston and Houston
Tim Ballisty, Meteorologist, The Weather Channel
11:00 a.m. ET 9/13/2008Hurricane Ike

Ike made landfall at 2:10 a.m. CDT at Galveston, Texas, with maximum sustained winds near 110 miles per hour. Its minimum pressure was 951.6 millibars, reported by the barometer at the Galveston Pleasure Pier when the center passed overhead.

As of 10 a.m. CDT, Ike was located right over Trinity, Texas, with maximum sustained winds at 80 mph. It is heading north at 16 mph with a turn to the north-northeast expected later today.

Hurricane warnings have been discontinued. A tropical storm warning remains in effect from Morgan City, Louisiana, to Sargent, Texas.

Tropical storm and hurricane conditions are being reported anywhere from Houston/Galvston east to Beaumont and Lake Charles and north to Lufkin, Texas.

There are numerous wind reports, surge reports, and damage reports coming in to weather.com.

You can follow along with the latest news and stats concerning Hurricane Ike by clicking here. Updates will be made fairly frequently.

Metro Houston faced a wicked blow from Ike this morning. Aside from the coastal flooding on the southeast side of the city along the western bay, Houston will deal with sustained tropical storm-force winds with numerous gusts to hurricane force. Once the center passes I-10, the metro area will see a slow decrease in winds but the heavy rain will continue into the afternoon.

Skyscrapers endured higher winds this morning than compared to the street level because of their elevation. Windows have been blown out in several of these very tall buildings throughout downtown Houston.

A very preliminary look tells us that water level rise forecasts did not reach their predicted levels, however, there was still considerable coastal flooding due to surge.

Final official measurements will be investigated during the next few days. It is possible that higher surge levels could be discovered when the surveys are completed especially along the west side of Galveston Bay.

Here's a quick glance at some of the highest surge levels:
Sabine Pass, Texas - 14.24 feet
Lake Charles, Louisiana - 10-12 feet
Galveston, Texas - 9-11 feet

The main reason behind the lower than forecast totals can mainly be attributed to a landfall just slightly farther east along Galveston Island. This did not allow for a pure southeast trajectory of winds channeling into Galveston Bay.

As Ike continues inland, flooding rains and potentially damaging winds will spread inland across Texas. Inland tropical storm warnings are in effect for cities as far north as the Red River, including the Dallas/Fort Worth area, with inland hurricane wind warnings as far north as Tyler, Texas.

As Ike weakens Sunday, the flooding rains will shift into eastern Oklahoma, northern Arkansas, southeast Kansas, central and southern Missouri and southern Illinois.

For the latest on the busy tropics, stay tuned to The Weather Channel and updates here on weather.com.

I think the Lord answered many prayers!

President Bush declared a major disaster in his home state of Texas and ordered immediate federal aid. Officials were encouraged that the storm surge topped out at only 13.5 feet — far lower than the catastrophic 20-to-25 foot wall of water forecasters had feared, but major roads were washed out near Galveston. From FOX news.

Praise God it was not as bad as predicted!! But I know many still need prayer and assistance.
